Class Action Lawsuit Against Zurn Pex

A class-action lawsuit was filed against Zurn Pex, a company that develops residential plumbing systems due to leaking that caused water damage, which is quite contrary to what the company is actually claiming.

In August 2007, a class action lawsuit was filed by Denise and Terry Cox; alleging that the brass plumbing fittings used in their residential plumbing system failed, and caused severe damage to their home. The lawsuit seeks replacement of all Zurn fittings, regardless of whether they have already failed or not.

Presently, a new lawsuit was filed against Zurn Pex. The suit claims that the company’s plumbing systems caused damage to their home. The Bismarck Tribune says that the plaintiffs are seeking class action status for the lawsuit. The plaintiffs allege that the Zurn Pex brass fittings failed just months after they were installed. The failure caused extensive damage and in resulted in health problems.

Major flooding in their homes is not just what consumers are concerned about. They are also wary about slow leaks. A leak could take a long time to detect because brass fittings are usually hidden from sight and are located in hard-to-reach areas.

Since the fittings are hard to reach, it is also difficult to replace them. Unfortunately, Zurn Pex are allegedly not honoring its warranties, leaving customers to pay for repair and replacement of their fittings.

One person who wrote to LawyersandSettlements.com noted that he had fittings fail within six months of being installed, causing flooding in his home.

It is expected that as more people experience problems with their Zurn Pex plumbing systems, more lawsuits will be filed.
